Andrew Martin began his entrepreneurial approach to business in 1982 at the age of fifteen when he and a partner founded ATM Audio, a provider of sound reinforcement and recording services in the greater Los Angeles area. Throughout his career, Andrew has fulfilled his duties as a senior executive in business ventures in various industries including; sound reinforcement and lighting, electrical safety equipment, commercial catering, specialty metal shapes manufacturing, entertainment equipment overhead suspension, and most recently addiction treatment.
Andrew’s record of creating and identifying opportunities for profitable business ventures, and of developing campaigns and measures to insure rapid growth and marketplace security while insisting on ethical practices has created significant shareholder returns. In 2005 ATM Fly-Ware, a division of ATM Group, Inc., was sold with the brand name controlling 80% of the USA market share and 65% of the global market share.
In 2006, Andrew founded Serene Center, Inc. as a new concept in the addiction treatment industry providing a specialized transitional sober living home environment with extended care options including individual and group counseling, life skills education, living community events, and access to outside resources including medical services and vocational training. In 2014, Serene Recovery Network, Inc. closed the Serene Center transitional sober living facility to focus efforts on other business opportunities.
In 2009, Andrew co-founded Serene Connections, an educational publishing company creating videos, audios, workbooks, and educational events for the behavioral health industry. The Evolution of Addiction Treatment Conference is the flagship conference produced by Serene Connections.
Additionally, in 2009, Andrew founded Serene Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) corporation with the mission of issuing micro loans to individuals in early recovery wishing to continue their continuum of care from primary treatment to transitional sober living.
In 2013, Andrew launched Serene Directory and the associated LocateTreatment.com to provide a holistic reference directory for the addiction treatment industry.
In 2014, Andrew launched Serene Institute to provide easy access to online multimedia learning for behavioral health professionals as well as produce individualized educational events and workshops.
Andrew is mission driven to quickly find and implement programs to strengthen desired product and organizational presence for the customer; and to insistently focus participant behaviors on attaining the organizational strategic objectives without sacrificing attention to the industry-dictated critical success factors that keep a business alive. ATM Group and Marshal Risk Management Systems were considered the source of education for the entertainment industry regarding the importance of risk management associated with suspending equipment overhead: and instigated and led ESTA and ANSI performance safety standards for loudspeaker suspension. Serene Recovery Network publishes Serene Scene Magazine which distributes invaluable information to addicts and their families every month in order to further promote education and communication about addiction in multimedia format.
Andrew has authored many articles related to industry specialties as well as business approach and leadership and has been published in Addiction Professional, It’s All in the Journey, Serene Scene Magazine, Behavioral Health Central, Sound & Video Contractor, Western Wall and Ceiling Contractors Association Bulletin, Connections Magazine (Australia), dB Magazine, EQ, Lighting & Sound International (Canada), Sound & Communications, Live Sound International (UK), Recording-Engineering-Production. Additionally, many patents and trademarks have been awarded to Andrew Martin for various business related products, brand names, and service marks.
Andrew is presently very active in the behavioral health community with past or present participation on the Board level of CCAPP, Los Angeles County Sober Living Coalition, Long Beach/South Bay Substance Abuse Coalition, and has been active in the Entrepreneurs’ Organization Board of Directors, the USC Sound Reinforcement Education Steering Committee as well as keynotes for various area High Schools, Colleges and social programs.
